Roberts 555 -  Two- Part Kit  Adhesive for all surfaces - 5Kg

Roberts 555 Two Part Flexible Polyurethane System is a flexible, water resistant adhesive and once cured R555 forms a strong bond that displays high peel and shear strength.
R555 can be used for the installation of rubber flooring, commercial sheet vinyl, vinyl planks and other difficult to hold products to concrete, masonry, brick, fibre cement sheeting, masonite sheeting, aluminium and steel. It can be applied for interior and exterior use.

  • Long-lasting elastic properties
  • Resistance to impact, shocks, vibrations, and wear
  • Great storage and transport stability
  • Very easy to use

SPREAD RATE

Use a V2 Notched Trowel - 0.8 M² per Kg. This means that this 5Kg bucket will do an area of 4 M².

If you want to work out your area in Square meters (M²), then take your length X width. (EG: if you float is 2m wide X 4m long, then your Square meters is 8 M², which is 2 X 4)

SURFACE PREPARATION:
All surfaces should be dry, smooth, sound, clean and free of wax, grease, oil, previously applied adhesive and other contaminants. Relative humidity of the concrete must be measured as per the AS1884- 2012 standard.

R555 can be applied onto concrete substrates with moisture contents up to 85% relative humidity tested based on the
In-Situ Probe method.

Alkalinity of the concrete (pH) must not be higher than 10. Subfloors must also be free from wax, grease and hydrostatic pressure. Any laitance on concrete should be removed. Curing time is related to temperature and this product should not be applied at temperatures below 10˚C.

Test all concrete substrate flooring for moisture content, according to the current Australian Standards prior to priming or the installation of any floorcoverings. Indentations and uneven concrete subfloors should be treated with the Roberts range of levelling compound and be in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations.

MIXING
R555 has been developed for ease of handling and mixing by the floor layer. The packs are accurately weighed by the manufacturer. Contents of Part B should be completely emptied into the Part A container and the two parts thoroughly mixed with paddle attached to slow speed electric drill. Ensure sides and base of container are thoroughly mixed in. It is recommended that for the best results a complete kit is used. The difference in colour between Parts A and B helps to indicate that mixing is complete.

APPLICATION:
After mixing and emptying container onto the substrate the adhesive should be spread by using the recommended notched trowel. The material should be laid into the wet film of adhesive. Roll lightly and check that transfer of the adhesive to the back of the flooring has occurred. R555 does not possess wet or dry tack properties. It relies upon the thickness of adhesive film to hold down the material, should the material not tend to lay flat e.g. corners of vinyl peaking, then assistance should be given in holding down with a weight until partial cure has been reached. Curing time is very much related to temperature but generally speaking, the initial bond sets up within approximately 4-5 hours and final cure is reached after 7 days. Over this 7 day period the bond gradually increases in strength.

CLEAN UP
To clean up equipment and adhesive spills, use Roberts 900 Contact Cleaner  flammable).
Roberts 900 is not recommended for removing adhesive from carpet, vinyl or lacquered surfaces.
